NSale Is Here!
Quick FYI before we get to the good stuff – Ambassador status cardholders can shop right now, ALL Nordstrom cardholders will be able to shop on Saturday (7/9), and Public Access starts on the 15th!
In-Store Faves
Susan (our digital content editor) and I went into Nordstrom in California so we could try on pieces and see how they fit and felt. There’s something about actually touching something to really understand the quality and fabric. Denise also went into her local store to try everything that she was eyeing. We’ll be adding more of the team favorites below as we get them so you can see pieces on different body shapes so be on the lookout for that!
Keep scrolling to find some of our favorite outfits! Full disclosure, every store offers some sale items, but definitely not all. To see all of our picks in each category, make sure you check out this post!
SIZE REFERENCE: I’m 5’4″ and wear a size 2-4, Small & 26 Jeans. Denise is 5’5″ and wears a size 6.
PRO TIP: If you can’t shop until Early Access (the 9th) or Public Access (the 15th), I suggest previewing the sale, creating a wishlist on the LTK app (see how in our NSale highlight on IG here), and thoughtfully planning your order. It will help you save time, and money, and ensure you get the pieces you need.

Outfit #1
For the first outfit, I wanted to share something I’d consider a fall uniform. The Open Edit dolman sleeve sweater is the perfect fall basic. You can wear it on both shoulders as a boat neck or slouch it down on one side for a one-shoulder look. It comes in 3 other colors too. I paired the sweater with Frame flare jeans. I featured these in my first impressions of the NSale video as an option for taller ladies. They’re really long (34” inseam) so if you’re petite, you have to wear them with heels. They worked perfectly with the Schutz platform heels I’m wearing though! Schutz is a wonderful shoe brand with classic and trendy options. These platform heels are on the trendier side but they’re very comfortable and SO chic and cool!
The jewelry and accessories in this look are pieces I’m wearing with every other look so let’s talk about them…I have on two Kendra Scott necklaces. One is a pre-layered 14-karat gold pendant necklace, and the other is a shorter chunky chain necklace. The second has Kendra Scott’s signature hexagon and I got the Gold Iridescent Abalone option. I LOVE these two necklaces layered together! My earrings are classic hoops by Argento Vivo. If you don’t already have gold hoops in your jewelry rotation, these are a great option. Finally, the sunglasses I’m wearing are a pair of square Celine sunglasses. The designer sunglasses in this year’s sale are SO good!
Everything I’m wearing runs true to size.
Outfit #2
This cashmere and wool poncho is the perfect piece to throw on with jeans and be out the door in minutes this fall/winter. It’s one size fits all, SO soft, and super versatile. I cinched it with a basic black Nordstrom belt, but you can wear it without the belt too. I paired it with these great jeans by Good American. They’re a coated denim that makes them less casual, and the length hits me just right so I’ll be able to wear them with any kind of shoe…BIG WIN! I did size up one size to a 6.
On my feet, I’m wearing a pair of really sleek black Vince booties. The low block heel (2.5”) makes them super easy to walk in. And I love the on-trend square toe but know that not all of you are a fan. These boots run a tiny bit narrow on me because of my bunion so I sized up half a size. By the way, if you prefer a rounded toe, go for these booties by Steve Madden. They’re almost the exact same pair as the ones from last year that you may remember me wearing all over Europe! Those are a great basic (with a little edge) if you want a lower price point too.
To complete the look, I’m carrying a beautiful black AllSaints crossbody that’s a great everyday bag. I’m wearing a pair of Celine two-tone square sunglasses and the same jewelry from outfit #1.
Outfit #3
Next up is this pretty sweater by Halogen…I love the square neck and puff sleeves! It runs large, and I ended up getting an XXS. Even though it’s fitted, it feels body skimming. I was worried about the puff sleeves under a jacket, so I tried out the Avec Les Filles houndstooth jacket and didn’t have a problem. This jacket is a standout! I love the print. I went with a small but wasn’t able to try on the XS. Either way, it’s definitely a more relaxed, oversized fit. I’m wearing the same jewelry, black coated jeans, black booties, and a crossbody bag. But with this look, I swapped the sunglasses for a pair of flat-top Celine sunglasses that are a fun, sporty addition to the look.
Outfit #4
This might be one of my favorite pieces from the sale…how cool is this trench by Sam Edelman?! I love the green and black color combo and the leather and wool blend contrast. It’s just such a modern, standout piece. And I will say it looks a lot better in person than it does in the online pictures. I got a size 4 so I could layer under it. Underneath, I’m wearing outfit #3.
Outfit #5
If you’re a print lover, this top is for you! This Free People floral blouse is one of those pieces you can wear now and later. It’s 100% cotton so you’ll stay cool now but can layer a jacket over it for fall. It runs true to size and comes in two other prints. Next, I threw on this black Open Edit blazer. If you’re looking for an affordable workwear basic, this is a great option. It’s lightweight, versatile, and a little oversized (I’m wearing an XS). I paired it with the same black coated jeans, but you could wear it with blue wash denim too. On my feet are a pair of black mules by Open Edit. They’re comfortable, versatile, and I love the rope buckle detail that makes them look super luxe (even though they’re only $50!).
Outfit #6
This mint green Free people sweater will be a heavy hitter when it gets cooler! I love the color for lightening up a fall/winter look, it’s really comfortable, and it perfectly frames my necklaces. It’s also like the goldilocks of sweater lengths…it’s a little cropped, but it’s not too short, and it’s not too long! It also comes in black, blue, and beige and runs true to size. I paired it with some lighter wash Mother jeans. They have minimal distressing, a cool raw hem, and a slight flare. Mother makes nice, high-quality denim and these are no exception…the fit, length, and feel are all top-notch!
The Dolce Vita sandals I’m wearing are a wear-now piece that could transition into fall depending on where you live. I love the knotted details, flared block heels (that are easy to walk in) and perfect neutral color. I’m wearing the color Café Stella but they come in 6 other colors.
Outfit #7
Do you remember the black BB Dakota dress from last year that was very similar to this? Well, this year it’s back with a few upgrades including a more defined cinched waist and button detailing. The material is the same great lightweight, breathable material from last year though! It runs a little small so you could size up one size if you like more room (and length). I cinched it with the same black Nordstrom belt from previous looks, but you can wear it without. I also paired it with the same sleek Vince booties, but you could wear flats, mules, flat booties, sandals, etc. The bag I’m carrying is another AllSaints bag but in a fun green neutral color that’s more versatile than you think!
Outfit #8
I was pleasantly surprised by the number of dresses I found. This croc-embossed faux leather Halogen dress is really chic. It’s a thicker material so it doesn’t show any lumps or bumps, it’ll be super versatile, and the knee-length is great. I’m wearing it with black booties but I’ll wear it with sneakers, flats, and heels too. It could also be a work dress if you wear it with a blazer. Instead, I decided to edge it up even more by throwing on the Sam Edelman leather and wool trench from outfit #4 and love this whole look!
This dress runs large, I’m wearing an XS.
Outfit #9
Looking for a date night look? This BB Dakota cutout sweater dress is perfect! It’s fitted, but the material is pretty thick so you feel secure and don’t see any lumps or bumps. The cuff is also fitted, which created a very subtle balloon sleeve. And of course, I love the small puff shoulder! It runs a little small so you could size up one size. And yes, you can wear a regular bra with it…yay! I’m wearing it with the Schutz platform heels from outfit #1 but if you want to “winterize” it, throw on some tights and a pair of sleek booties instead!
Outfit #10
This is a “cool mom” outfit you can wear on repeat all fall! The green BB Dakota faux leather blazer is gorgeous, and the fit is SO good. I love the color for fall but it also comes in cognac. I went with an XS for a slightly less oversized fit. Underneath, I’m wearing a wardrobe basic must-have…a white tee! This white tee by Caslon is only $12 and comes in 16 colors and prints! If your white tee needs a refresh, this one is great (runs true to size)! I paired it with the coated black jeans and completed the look with the same green AllSaints bag, gold jewelry, a pair of flattop Celine sunglasses, and Rag & Bone retro sneakers. These sneakers are really cool and so comfortable. I’m wearing the black option but I also ordered them in the Light Sand Suede color.
Outfit #11
Denise is wearing a gorgeous wool blend blazer by Reiss in the perfect neutral color. It’s tailored but has a longer length that gives it a more casual feel and elongates your frame. She said it has a more oversized fit but the arms were a little tight. Underneath, she’s wearing a classic white cami. This one is by Halogen, has subtle lace detailing around the V neckline, comes in a few colors, and has a racerback.
She paired it with the AG Ex-Boyfriend jeans. These were in the sale last year and sold out SO quickly. They have a more relaxed straight-leg fit if you’re interested in trying out the more relaxed fit jean trend going on right now. Denise is wearing them with a lot of the remaining outfits so you can see how versatile they are…
On her feet, she’s wearing some white Golden Goose sneakers that are not part of the sale but I’ve linked a pair of P448 sneakers that are similar in quality.
Outfit #12
This is the perfect workwear look! Denise is wearing a gorgeous burgundy silk blouse by Theory paired with Wit & Wisdom pants that have a cool (but subtle) plaid print. On her feet, she’s wearing a pair of older black slingbacks, but these Vince Camuto slingbacks are nearly identical and have a very cool sculptured heel.
Outfit #13
How beautiful is this Veronica Beard houndstooth blazer?! It’s hard to tell in the photos but the colors in it are very pretty. Denise is wearing the Halogen raw edge tank underneath that has been a best-seller for the past year and a must-have basic. She paired it with NYDJ stretch-knit trousers and some suede black booties. These trousers are a wonderful basic if you don’t have black trousers in your closet! Denise said they run a little big.
Outfit #14
Denise really killed it in the blazer department on her shopping trip! This L’Agence checked red blazer is so chic and sophisticated. She paired with the same Halogen tank, knit trousers, and black booties.
Outfit #15
I shared this jacket by Blanc Noir in my preview video and unfortunately didn’t get to see it in my store. But luckily, Denise got to try it out. I love the color and casual feel! She paired it with the AG slim straight jeans, Halogen tank, and some white sneakers. You could also wear it with your workout gear to and from the gym!
Outfit #16
Denise tried another really cool jacket by Blanc Noir in this cool green color. I love the longer length, that it has a hood, and that you can cinch it to create a more defined waist!
Outfit #17
I LOVE this burgundy Reiss dress on Denise! The length is great, I love all the details, and the fact that it has sleeves…perfect! She paired it with some slingbacks, but you could even dress it down with sneakers or flats if you wanted.
Outfit #18
This printed blouse by A.L.C. has such beautiful colors in it that are perfect for fall. I love the billowy sleeves, tie neck, and flowy, body-skimming fit.
Outfit #19
They did not have the Veronica Beard blazer in the store I was shopping in, but Denise was able to snag one… How gorgeous is this blue?! It looks SO good with the denim and will be a go-to this fall. The shoulders on this blazer run a little tight at first but as you wear it, they start to loosen up.
Outfit #20
Everyone needs the perfect LBD and this Vince dress is a wonderful option. The wrap-inspired silhouette and v-neckline are super flattering! This would also be a great work dress if you work in an office.
Outfit #21
This white embroidered eyelet top by Reiss is the perfect wear now, wear later piece…Wear it now with your denim shorts and later with your denim jeans like Denise did!
Outfit #22
Remember the burgundy Theory shirt from outfit #12? This is the exact same top but in the Sienna color! In the first look, Denise styled it with pants but this look is a little more casual with jeans.
