White is a scary color to wear as women over 40…especially on our lower half. White tends to make us look larger than we are and usually shows more skin insecurities. Mother Frayed Jeans + Monochromatic Look
One way to wear your white jeans is to go with a monochromatic, all-white look. I know, I know, this might be out of your comfort zone but…it’s so chic and fresh! In the photos above, I’m wearing white Mother raw hem jeans with a feminine embroidered top by Maje. The jeans have a good amount of stretch to them and they are a straight leg cut so they aren’t too fitted, which I find to be more flattering…especially when it comes to white jeans. Do the whites need to match perfectly? Nope! Would a cream or off-white top look just as amazing? It sure would. A monochrome look is fashion-forward, but don’t overthink it! I broke up the white with gold accessories, a reversible leather Valentino belt, and See by Chloe platform heels.

Mother Frayed Jeans + Long Sleeve Button-down
In this look, I’m wearing the same Mother frayed hem jeans, but I swapped out the embroidered blouse for a casual, pink striped button-down top by Zadig & Voltaire. If you aren’t 100% ready to try an all-white look, try a pastel color with your white jeans…it’s still very light and fresh. And, the bonus of this button-down is that you can either tuck it in, do a half-tuck like I did, or leave it untucked and the back of the blouse will cover your bottom. The top has a split cuff and a cool amour graphic on the back. So it’s not just your basic button-down! On my feet, I’m wearing some neutral woven slides by Veronica Beard. I finished off the look with a statement necklace, earrings, and sunglasses to turn the whole look up a notch.

Mother Frayed Jeans + Elevated Blouse
Just in case you were thinking the raw hem on these Mother frayed hem jeans meant you always had to wear them with a more casual look, I wanted to show you how to dress them up a bit! Navy and white is such a classic color combination for summer…This navy blouse by Zadig & Voltaire has some subtly beautiful beading on the v-neck notched collar and shoulders. It also has a slight puff shoulder, ruching on the cuffs, a faux-wrap front, AND a flutter hem…great for masking a tummy. On my feet, I’m wearing See by Chloe platform heels. Not only are they gorgeous, but with the 2′ platform, they are easy to walk in and quite comfortable too. OK, so that’s 3 looks with the same jeans, keep scrolling for 2 more pair of white denim with different silhouettes…

White Split Hem Jeans
These white jeans by Grlfrnd have a cool split hem on the sides, which is perfect for showing off a beautiful shoe. They’re a pair of jeans you can stay cool in and your legs will look a mile long. The split hem is an on-trend detail that takes your outfit to the next level. The Misa Los Angeles top I’m wearing is perfect for anyone who likes to keep their arms covered without being too hot in the summer! I love the beautiful lightweight fabric and the pattern is so feminine. Sizes are limited so scoop one up if you can! Like I said, the jeans will frame a beautiful shoe…these Marc Fisher green sandals add a fun pop of color to the look. You could also try a strappy tie sandal like these which are not only gorgeous but currently on sale.

Wide Leg Relaxed Jeans
These jeans are a great summer staple. If you want a looser, more relaxed fit with your white jeans, give these a try! They’re stretchy but still feel secure, aren’t see-through, and they’re the perfect length for me. I’m 5’4” for reference. The wider leg silhouette is also very on-trend! The fit is TTS. You’ll love that you can wear these jeans with sneakers and a flat sandal or a heel…that versatility gives you the opportunity to wear them more often.
You can see more photos of these wide leg jeans in this post.
White Jeans Tips
Not sure yet which of these white jeans is best for you? Here are my best tips for finding the perfect white jeans…
- Size up one size in white jeans so they’re not too tight and don’t show lumps or bumps
- If you’re worried about it, wear a longer shirt for added coverage. Hip length is the best so the top doesn’t swallow you.
- Look for higher quality, thicker denim. It will be forgiving and flattering!
- Consider the pockets. I prefer jeans that have faux pockets in the front…you’ll get the same look without the bulk and a smoother look because you won’t see the pockets through the denim.
- Go with a fit and leg silhouette that you know is flattering for you. Usually, flared jeans are the most flattering.
- Undergarments are important. There is always a see-through factor no matter what jeans you order…nude undies are key! These are my favorites.
- To create a long, lean line, wear skin-colored shoes so they blend in with your leg instead of cutting you off.
