Hot pink at Cannes 2022: This shade is having a moment in fashion

Head-to-toe hot pink outfits are proving to be a favorite this year, at the Cannes red-carpet. The prestigious annual film festival, which is celebrating its 75th edition this year, has seen some gorgeous celebrity looks in in the “it” colour of the season, hot-pink.

Guests from around the world sported the attention grabbing, “look-at-me” colour and managed to make it look stunning as well. From the likes of Cannes OG Aishwarya Rai Bacchan to Elsa Hosk, Katherine Langford and Masoom Minawala Mehta, the Cannes red carpet of this year saw some head-turning looks.

According to designer Anvita Sharma, who runs her own brand Two Point Two, “Hot pink is proving to be a hit amongst designers and celebrities equally. The colour screams “opulence” and demands attention, therefore posing as a colour of choice this season. It is safe to say that this year, the red-carpet has transformed into a ‘pink-carpet’, courtesy this gorgeous colour.”

How can you include hot pink in your wardrobe?

1. For an instant refresh, choose a summer appropriate dress in the colour of the season, paired with some white shoes and a chic white handbag, for an outfit that screams “summer”.

2. For a slightly underwhelming look, pair a hot pink shirt with a more neutral coloured pair of bottoms, like black or a more sombre shade of pastel pink and you have with yourself an office worthy outfit, which looks sophisticated and safe.

3. If a bold colour like hot pink isn’t your thing, you can also try adding it to your wardrobe through using it as a pop of colour via bags, shoes and jewellery. These accessories will give a fresh kick to your otherwise simple outfit and make heads turn.
