Canadian fashion house Aritzia plans first San Antonio store

Aritzia shoppers will soon be able to peruse the Canadian label’s racks of “everyday luxury” clothing in person. The brand is planning San Antonio’s first store at The Shops at La Cantera.
The Canadian design house has a portfolio of 10 signature brands ranging in price and style. It’s celebrity approved, too. Remember the super puff jacket worn by A-listers like Ariana Grande and Jennifer Lopez that TikTok was determined to find a dupe for?
Aritzia confirmed the new location in San Antonio on Monday, July 11. A representative for the brand tells MySA that construction has not started but the tentative openining is scheduled for winter 2022. The store will be over 9,700 square feet of fashion, making it the largest in Texas. It will be larger than most boutiques at The Shops, which typically range in size from 2,000 to 4,000 square-feet.
While the San Antonio store is dwarfed by the massive, 46,000-square-foot store announced for Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, it will be larger than some of its Texas counterparts. Aritzia has shops in Dallas, Houston, and Austin. At 9,200 square-feet, Dallas is home to the largest Aritzia store in Texas. Houston and Austin’s installments are 4,790 square-feet and 7,000 square-feet, respectively.
On Friday, July 8 Aritzia CEO Jennifer Wong released first quarter financial results showing the company’s revenue increased by more than 60%. The Globe and Mail, a Canadian newspaper, says Aritzia’s momentum is powered by its expansion in the U.S. which includes 10 store openings in 2022.
