Alan Licht and Ioana Nemes added to Issue 6

NeoAztlan Issue 6 launches Oct. 14 featuring Ben Judson’s interview with writer and minimalist composer Alan Licht and Steve Peralta’s interview with Romanian artist Ioana Nemes. Licht has worked with artists such as Sonic Youth’s Jim O’Rourke and celebrated minimalist composer La Monte Young. Licht’s critical writing on music and sound art has been published in magazines such as The Wire and Modern Painters. Bucharest-based Nemes’ work appeared most recently at the Prague Biennale as part of an exhibition titled “The New Romanian Scene.” She’s one of a group of young Romanian contemporary artists that are gaining significant notoriety for their work.

Also included in Issue 6 is Kate Green’s candid interview with Berlin-based artist and Turner-prize nominee Angela Bulloch. Canadian-born Bulloch works with a wide variety of media to provide insight on public structures and social systems.

NeoAztlan Issue 5 features rare and candid interviews with Italian architectural artist Monica Bonvicini and Icelandic sound experimentalist Runar Magnusson as well as a review of Boards of Canada’s latest release and another look at “Switzerland on a budget,” NeoAztlan’s fun interview with contemporary art team Gerda Steiner and Jörg Lenzlinger.
